Sepia Saturday Water Tanks
Sepia Saturday Water Tanks
Happy Saturday everyone and as it is Saturday time for a Sepia Saturday post for the challenge hosted by @old-guy-photos.
This is a challenge I enjoy joining i love how Sepia Images have a sort of timeless feel to them, well not always as my post of people last week showed, cellphones give away that it is a more recent photo, however thats not the case with this post simages

One thing I noticed when I first came to work in NYC, was all the water tanks in view all over the city on top of buildings, it is somehtign I had not seen before, and many buildings have not only one but more on the roof such as the two in this first shot.

And some have three as can be seen here with the fourth one on another building, I understand they are needed in high rise buildings to give pressure to the water flow in the building, which makes sense and I guess why I had not seen them before I had never lived in a city with lots of high rise buildings

and here we have a few more

And this last shot the tank has a little style with the stick figures on it, and is complimented with the cool clock
Ill have to pay attention the next time Im in Chicago and see how many of them I see.

Is it weird that I thought of the buildings as motherboards, and the towers as resistors, and transistors?
Anyway...
Awesome pictures my friend; looking at these lets you realize they sure dont build anything like they used to. The brickwork in the first photo is amazing. And the sepia does indeed accentuate the "cool points" in my opinion... Always enjoy seeing your posts; have a wonderful rest of your Saturday!!
Its really cool clock and nice sepia water tanks photography.
Great pictures! I wonder if the water tanks are unique to New York, or if they are also common in another cities (I haven't seen them in Toronto - also, I haven't really look for them, either). My favourite of this collection is the first picture with beautiful decoration on the top of the wall, and the last one.
