Alim is my best friend!

And he is my soulmate!

My brother!

We first met in 2013 in Ngaoundéré, Cameroon, when I did some fieldwork for my PhD in Linguistics.

I didn't finish my studies, but the friendship lasts forever!

I spent every evening, since I met him, together with him.

Either he came visiting me in my catholic hostel, run by polish sisters, where I was staying during my stay, or I took the moto, passed Grand Marché and Grand Moschée to get down to lamido's palace, where he "resided" in a little hut next to the huge clay walls of the palace.

We then hiked together

ate together

laughed together

smoked lots of ganja together

smoked lots of cigarettes together

heard Manu Chao, Fat Freddy's Drop or Bob Marley together

and had one of the best times together I ever had in my entire life.

Alim is a prince, a member of the Hayatou family, the muslim Fulbe family that rules the city Ngaoundéré.

Alim and I went to many different sights around Cameoon, the outback of Nagoundéré, Ngaou Ndéré, Ngaou Hora, Lac Tizon, Chute de Telo, Chute de la Vina, Ngan Ha, Buea, Bertua, Limbe, Kribi and last but not least Mount Cameroon

Even if we are physically separated, by heart and soul, we are not!

Hopefully, he comes visiting me next year!

Nous nous sommes rencontrés pour la première fois en 2013 à Ngaoundéré, au Cameroun, où j'ai fait du travail de terrain pour mon doctorat en linguistique.

Je n'ai pas fini mes études, mais l'amitié dure pour toujours!

J'ai passé tous les soirs, depuis que je l'ai rencontré, avec lui.

Soit il est venu me rendre visite dans mon auberge catholique, tenue par des sœurs polonaises, où je séjournais pendant mon séjour, ou j'ai pris la moto, passé le Grand Marché et la Grande Mosquée pour descendre au palais de Lamido, où il "résidait" hutte à côté des énormes murs d'argile du palais.

Nous avons ensuite fait de la randonnée ensemble

mangé ensemble

ri ensemble

fumé beaucoup de ganja ensemble

fumé beaucoup de cigarettes ensemble

a entendu Manu Chao, Drop de Freddy de Freddy ou Bob Marley ensemble

et a eu un des meilleurs moments ensemble que j'ai jamais eu de toute ma vie.

Alim est un prince, un membre de la famille Hayatou, la famille musulmane Fulbe qui dirige la ville de Ngaoundéré.

Alim et moi sommes allés à de nombreux sites différents autour de Cameoon, l'arrière-pays de Nagoundéré, de Ngaou Ndéré, de Ngaou Hora, de Lac Tizon, de Chute de Telo, de Chute de la Vina, de Ngan Ha, de Buea, de Bertua, de Limbé et de Kribi. Cameroun

Même si nous sommes physiquement séparés, par cœur et par âme, nous ne le sommes pas!

J'espère qu'il viendra me rendre visite l'année prochaine!

C'est notre heureuse rencontre dans un taxi, quand je suis arrivé à Yaoundé au Cameroun en 2014.

juntos y tuvimos uno de los mejores momentos juntos que he tenido en toda mi vida.

Alim y yo fuimos a muchos lugares diferentes alrededor de Cameoon, el outback de Nagoundéré, Ngaou Ndéré, Ngaou Hora, el lago Tizon, la Chute de Telo, la Chute de la Vina, Ngan Ha, Buea, Bertua, Limbe, Kribi y por último pero no menos importante Camerún

¡Incluso si estamos físicamente separados, por el corazón y el alma, no lo somos!
