1. Cut down your social media time.

Although it's easy to fall into the habit of doing so, it's not necessary to check social media notifications every few hours. Obsessively checking for updates on social media wastes precious mental energy that could be better spent on learning new things. Instead, try and check only once or twice a day.

It is not the trait of a smart person to waste his valuable time on social media sites, especially when they provide little to no benefit. It would be much better to spend the time you would have been on Facebook, Instagram, and other websites on educational tasks. Through sites like Steemit and YouTube, you can learn new things through blog posts and video tutorials on an almost unlimited number of topics.

2. Make a list of goals each day.

If you don't set out your tasks for the day, you won't be able to make progress. You don't need to think of it like a traditional to-do list with full tasks. Each item on the list can represent small steps you must complete to achieve larger goals. Setting these reasonable and attainable intentions each day keeps you motivated to continue. Learning new things may seem daunting, but they become much more reasonable when broken down.
