Imgur Hacked
Imgur, the popular image sharing service, is recent company published a notable data infringement after the fact. Just few days ago, Uber announced a violation that happened last year and had an effect on 57 million users. It was also made public that Uber paid the hackers for the thieved data and let them know to stay silent.

The Imgur data breach doesn't impact nearly as many users as Uber's but 1.7 million users is still a notable number. The company also announced that this breach occurred in 2014 and they are just being informed about it on Thursday, Nov.23. The info these hackers have reached seems to be only email addresses and passwords.

We have always encrypted your password in our database, but it may have been cracked with brute force due to an older hashing algorithm (SHA-256) that was used at the time, says Imgur.
What else is waiting for our email addresses and passwords in the near future?
