Georg Wilhelm Saxer, Prelude, e minor

This is my second attempt in the Secrest of Organ playing Contest. In my first attempt I recorded announcement and performance seperately. And that is against the rules of the contest. Sorry for that. So, now performance and announcement now all in one take. Well, that is to say, what you see here is about the twentieth time I tried to play this piece without errors. Camera is really good for performance anxiety. Less so for my heart... :-)

The piece is a prelude by Georg Wilhelm Saxer. The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Voxus, of the Matthijs van Deventer-orgel in the Grote Kerk, Hijkerk (https://www.voxusorgans.com/en/product/nijkerk) with me playing on my Johannus console.

You can get the score of this prelude on my website: http://partitura.org/index.php/georg-wilhelm-saxer-praeludium-und-fuge-e-moll/

Yup, two and a half octave for one's feet to play on. That's one of the things that makes playing the organ makes so fascinating. And difficult...

Amazing playing! I'm really glad you found our little contest! I looked at your website. Don't hesitate to charge more for scores with fingering and pedaling because you save tons of time for people. Also have you considered using some email newsletter provider to start collecting email subscribers?

Posted using Partiko Android

I created two scores with fingering a few months ago. And tilll now exactly one copy was sold. So it was not really worth the effort. I have not yet tried a mail newsletter service. Though WordPress does offer something like that natively and I can see that some people have registered themselves with it.

Your best customers will always be your past customers. Therefore it's best to have a way to reach them. Email is still the king although this is slowly changing as we all get bombarded with emails daily. Anticipated, relevant and personal messages to people who want to get them. It's called Permission Marketing. The term was coined by Seth Godin a couple of decades ago.

Yes it could be worthwhile in the long run. However, it distracts from what I love doing most: creating new scores from manuscript sources and play them.

Then cross-posting on Steemit and Whaleshares makes a lot of sense from my experience.

To me Steemit and Whaleshares is blogging 10.0...

Posted using Partiko Android

I already do cross post on Steemit
Whalshares is new to me. I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip!

First time I ever listened to this kind of music. Not really my type of music I must say :( but the performance was very good. No doubt about your talents @partitura ;) Thanks for sharing, I am sure there are a lot of people who loves this music.

Thanks for listening to it anyway, even if you don't really like it. Organ music is not for the faint hearted... :-)
