October 20, 2019--Practice Blog

We had our normal Sunday morning. Played for the church service at Grace United Methodist. Prelude was the Guilmant Prelude in E-flat major, Op. 41, no. 1. Offertory was Our Comfort by Day by Gilbert Martin, and the postlude was Tu Es Petrus by Jeanne Demessieux. I did play part of the Chicken Dance after the service as the minister was planning on wearing a chicken suit during a walk to raise funds later that day. The anthem for today was Elaine Hagenberg's O Love for choir, piano, and cello. Beautiful piece. A video is below (not our performance today, but one that I could YouTube quickly.)

We went out for lunch at Perkins so that we could have a piece of Chocolate pie in memory of my wife's aunt who passed away on Thursday. After a quick return home to change clothes and grab a dog who likes to go on walks, we participated in the annual Crop Walk--a fund raiser for the local foodbanks. Our Shih Tzu started strong, but we carried him probably over half of the walk. Returned home and got my classes ready for tomorrow, checked an exam, and transcribed some fingering for Secrets of Organ Playing. Lots done today, but hardly any practicing. I am thinking of going up to do that now....
