Toccata in G major (Toccata en sol majeur) - Théodore Dubois

This is my entry for Week 18 of the Secrets of Organ Playing Contest.

My name is James Flores and I'm playing Toccata in G major by Théodore Dubois. This piece is still a work in progress but I thought I would share it for the contest.

The Toccata is from Douze Pièces pour orgue ou piano-pédalier (1889) and is perhaps one of the most well-known of his works. The piece makes for an excellent postlude or recital work due to its joyful nature and major tonality.

Sort:

there is something deeply magical, momentous and melancholic is the Organ Music. I am absolutely on the other edge of the music, focusing on the underground electronic and having absolutely zero knowledge about the classical music, but still admire and understand the majestic vibe of this instrument.

The organ like I say, is one of the musical instruments that speaks deeply to the heart and there are so many instruments that can be played on the organ too.
I really enjoyed the G major secrets and they sounds great. But I wonder always why people love to learn about the key C before they proceed to the others. Thanks a lot for sharing to users on the blockchain. You really great at what you play. Good work and keep the music spirit up always

Hello and nice to see you again with another great organ piece. It's good to listen to organ music from time to time, especially here on Steemit. I believe there are max two or three organ artists in total on steemit. Well done, keep up the good work and have a nice day.

Let’s encourage more to use Steemit!

That would be a good idea but I know no one who plays the organ. So I guess that's going to be your job :)

The sound of the organ is so powerful and versatile, no wonder it takes a full room to fit it, your performance is absolutely stunning and on point, toccatas always feel like the right pieces for this instrument and you totally dominated it, thanks for sharing!

It's so much fun to play toccatas. Especially this one... By the way, tomorrow I will be playing my own toccata on the themes of Ciurlionis in Poland...
