Robert Cohen, head of the SEC's Cyber Unit, will retire next month.

According to the SEC on Monday, Cohen worked in the department for 15 years and previously served as co-head of the anti-market fraud unit. At his current position, Cohen was responsible for detecting irregularities in the area of cryptocurrencies and initial placement of coins (ICO).

Cohen has led several investigations, including the alleged unregistered sale of Kik Interactive Inc. securities, as well as the case of professional boxer Floyd Mayweather and music producer DJ Khaled, who did not disclose information about the compensation received for the promotion of cryptocurrency projects.

I am grateful to Rob for the insight, competence and leadership he has shown in creating the cyber unit," said SEC Chairman Jay Clayton. - It leaves us well prepared to continue our critical work to protect markets and retail investors in this complex and constantly evolving area.
