Libertarian 'Seasteaders' Face Execution In Thailand For 'Violating National Sovereignty'
Seasteading is a movement among libertarians who want to live outside the control of any government.
The problem is that the government of Thailand does not agree. They raided the seastead of a couple who are outside the national borders of Thailand although that matters none to them.
The couple faces life in prison or execution for violating national sovereignty if caught.
This is something the Bitcoin enthusiasts did not anticipate.
Are we seeing another battleground in the fight for government versus the people?

I don't see how the death penalty is even close to being a reaction of governments. Is this a sort of fear mongering statement so that we are kept in check? These extreme measures are exactly why we should be limiting governments power by taking back the economic system
I believe the Thai government is currently being run by the military, so that might explain the severity the of response.

That comment is pure spam. I don't like your huge commercial intruding on an unrelated debate, seemingly only because there are folks reading this post. I'd appreciate it if you stuck to your own blog, replying to comments relevant to your commercial enterprise, or at least addressed the matter at hand substantively - without plastering a billboard in the comment section.

Sith happens. What lawful interest the Thai government has beyond their territorial border, absent some security threat, is not clear. Since the seasteaders have no military or political force backing them up, they may have little recourse at law, or otherwise, to prevent and respond to these depredations. Let's hope there is some significant pushback against this move by authoritarian regimes to expand their power to stomp on freedom outside their border.

IF the UN was worth anything they would go around saving people from situations like these the world needs a freedom fighting force of some kind because all people need protection from such harsh rulers
