A Piece Of The Pie
We all want a piece of the pie. "A piece of the pie" is used to indicate a share of something that is to be divided up, like in the example from the Cambridge English Dictionary.

a piece of the pie. a share of something: When the business started making money, everyone in his family wanted a piece of the pie.

Unfortunately, the traditional way of cutting up the pie is just plain wrong, scientifically wrong even. This wrong way of dividing the pie can literally be seen in the shape of the graph we call a "pie chart," where one triangular small piece is cut out of the round pie, transforming that perfect roundness into a hideous pacman shape. The idea being, of course, that one person gets the pacman, and the rest can divvy up the small triangular shape. Some pie-cutters would even refuse to cut at all, as they would claim the whole pie for themselves...
Nah, that's not the direction we're taking today ;-) But there is a more scientifically justified way to cut a literal pie; that's what's discussed in a video I saw a few years back and managed to find again to share with you today. What's more, this shows the perfect way to cut a pie, especially when you want to keep the pie all to your own :-) This way of cutting your pie takes into account that you'll probably want to save some of the pie for another day, although that might not be true for all of us; if it's chocolate pie, I wouldn't trust myself not to finish the whole thing in one go. It also is the best way to maintain the pie's roundness, by the way; no more pacman! Oh, and it entails the use and snapping of rubber-bands... It's not about a pie which we have to divide..
People need to realize that we have a whole fucking bakery.
