A new star will appear in the sky in few years!

in #science7 years ago (edited)

In 2022 we will be witnesses to a unique astronomical phenomenon.

A team of astronomers from Calvin College in Michigan, coordinated by Professor Larry Molnar, predicted a particularly astronomical phenomenon. According to researchers, around 2022 we will see a new star in the sky very bright.

In reality, it is not a star, but a supernova explosion produced by two extremely powerful binary stars wich will collide. -Daily Mail

Fortunately, these two binary stars that now orbit around each other, are 1800 light years away from us and their explosion will not be a danger.

The star that we will see, it can be seen in the Cygnus constellation . It is the first time that astronomers predict an unpredictable phenomenon as a supernova.

Since 2013, professor Molnar has explored the star called KIC 9832227. Along with other experts, he realized that in reality it is not a single star, but a binary model. The professor compared those two stars that share one atmosphere with two nuts that share a shell.

This binary system behaves like another star, V1309 Scorpii, which exploded in 2008 and professor Molnar concluded that KIC 9832227 will have a similar fate. If Molnar's study will prove to be correct, then the show that we will see in the sky in few years will be really special.

"The Star" will be the brightest object in the sky and it could be seen for a while.

I can't wait to see this supernove! Edited the video!

This is cool! Thanks.

Wow that's awesome. Could you remind me again once 2022 hits? I don't want to miss it! :D

If I remember it, I will remind you! :D

I guess he means the brightest bar the sun. Amazing anyway.

:D Thank you!

I can't wait to see this supernovae!

Me too! :)

:D I think it will be amazing!

Thank you for sharing this information. I had no idea :) Now I am already excited about the future to be star :)

You welcome! I excited too ! :D Cheers!

Very interesting post. I would also like to see this Supernova.

Sehr Interessanter Post. Diese Supernova möchte ich auch sehen.

Thank you! A lot of people would like to see it!

According to Wikipedia and other sources, KIC 9832227 is 1800 lightyears from Earth, not millions of lightyears.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KIC_9832227
Indeed, if it were millions of lightyears away, nobody here would know about it because that's just too faint to see a binary star. Only after it became a supernova would it (maybe) be bright enough to see from here, and even then only by using a powerful telescope.
At 1800 lightyears, it won't be so hard to see. It might be really spectacular.

Wikipedia is a great source, but I wrote what I read on that site. They might be wrong or not. Thank you for the information and no matter what is the distance people will still want to see it.

It's very beautiful post!
Your job is very good :))
