The Ancient Nazca Lines | Mystery Of The Peru

Located in the Peruvian Desert about about 200 miles south of Lima, the capital city of Peru there lies a plain between two valleys named Nazca. Across this plain there lies several lines intersecting , running parallel or forming strange geomatric shapes. Across the planes there are strange symbols, and pictures of birds and beasts all etched on a giant scale which can only be observed from the sky or from above a certain level.

There are more then geoglyphs on the plain. Geoglyphs are geometric forms that include straight lines, triangles, spirals, circles and trapezoids being enormous in size. It was discovered by Peruvian archaeologist Toribio Mejia Xesspe who spotted them while hiking through the surrounding foothills in 1927, the forms are very difficult to see from the ground that they were not widely known until the 1930's when aircraft spotted them while surveying for water.

An American explorer, who visited the site said that these diagrams may have been linked to astronomocal calculations in the past. He suggested that the lines were astronomically significant and that the plain acted as a giant observatory.

Till now nobody knows how and who build the lines and for what purposed it was served? How possibly old it can be?
Were they related to astronomy or some ancient religion or symbols?
Who would have formed such a perfect shapes of various things that can only be viewed from the sky or from an elevated area?
