Thanks! It is really important to educate the general public on these issues. Sadly, even doctors just started to increase the awareness on using antibiotics in the past 5-10 years in Hong Kong, so its not really easy for the public to realize the seriousness.
My veterinarian explained to me that antibiotic resistance can jump from one pet to your other pets, and even cross to humans. Apparently our government took this so seriously, every vet in the province was forced to attend a special training on antibiotic use, and if they did not, they could lose their license. Furthermore, they can no longer prescribe antibiotics without clear indication of infection being present.

Great post, really interesting read. I agree with you that we are completely misusing antibiotics at present which could become a real problem for resistance. Wow .. I never that man and animal residue is benificial to farmers and enviornment just because of microbes ..
I have a question thou .. those biotic drinks which are coming now a days do they really benefits a human or they make our body less probable to making one of their own ??
I am guessing you are talking about probiotic drinks which contains live beneficial bacteria, but I do not know the in depth details on how those work or might affect our bodies. But had been saying that most of them will be killed in the stomach by the gastric juice
