Hi Steem Community! I´m here to talk about Skin Problems, my son needs your help.

I´m creating this post to learn about my son skin issues and hopefully you will have some remedies or experience to help us too. Seeing our little one suffering, scratching and so... sad is really destroying our hearts. We understand this is going to stay with us and thanks God it is only a skin problem, so we have to get better to help him.

Atopic skin in babies

When we talk about atopic skin in babies, the situation is aggravated, because by our perception of parents we lose the logic and we move by the feelings instead of the head. For this reason it is very important not to medicate the child without the prescription of a specialist, ever.

As soon as the first signs of atopic dermatitis in our baby appears (redness in body folds, rashes, etc.) we must go to the pediatrician, if he sees that it is atopic skin will refer us to a specialist dermatologist child, to better evaluate the situation of the child.

In our case, Alexander is only three and there is no way to do any allergies test yet but we just know (as parents) that dust and sweating has a lot to do with it...

The most important thing is to keep the skin hydrated until a dermatologist sees your child; it would be convenient to use non-harmful creams and provide hydration, as is the case of Nivea cream of hands, quite fat and in large quantities, give the child What your skin needs, although it will not stop the fumes and irritations of our baby's skin. I recommend that you talk to your trusted pharmacist about this, and you will be given a good, specialized cream for the maintenance of your child's skin until the dermatologist sees it.

Infectious theories of atopic skin

Atopic skin is one of the diseases that most attack today the human race and is very present in children. It is a disorder, as we know, of the sebaceous glands that causes itching and itching, forming a kind of scales on the skin.

This complication has many possible causes and each one of them must be studied to give an effective answer to the people who suffer it in order to help improve the treatments that the patient needs to get ahead with the disease.

Some of the theories of why this condition occurs are due to the reactions of the skin to the external agents to which we submit it in our daily life, but there are also other alternative theories that would explain this disease.

Here we will tell you the two main infectious theories for atopic skin disease:

The neurovegetative theory: This theory indicates that the patient may have an abnormal response by the nervous system.

Emotional Theory: This theory indicates that because the skin is an organ that is related to the nervous system and it is exposed, as in the first row, to the reactions that can arise with changes in our life, causing both favorable reactions As contrary reactions.

We live in an island that suffers from CALIMA, which is a hot, oppressing dust and sand-laden wind coming from Africa. It's fine yellowish-brown dust is even creeping through doors and windows. Surely one of the primary suspects for our son condition

A Blockchain of Problems

As the eruption in the skin appeared from one day to the next, we were not ready. By the time we noticed there was a problem with Alexander he had been scratching already for almost two days. The first dots appeared behind his ear and under the armpit, not really visible but soon his whole back was covered in red dots.

The itchiness is a double problem, he damage his skin further by scratching (even biting) but worst, he is excited all day long which only increases the skin problems.

We have a good collection of creams that we keep trying to search for the best solution, some for the showers (which I try to keep as often as possible); some for the night and when he is scratching I would even give him something to relax.

What cream work best for you? How do you help your kids when the worst time arrive? Please just comment your experience with us so we can all learn about this problem...

I guess a good moisturising cream which doesn't contain any alcohols or scents is sudocrem. Which should calm down the redness.

I have used sudocrem and works fine in Alexander! Thanks a lot to stop by , sharing and caring

Here is another source you can look into as well. The sources I give you care more about humanity than kick backs from Big Pharma. Eczema, atopic dermatitis, is a common skin disease that usually arises in childhood, runs a relapsing and remitting course, frequently persists into adult life, and can result in significant discomfort.
Emollients and topical steroids form the basis of treatment, but response is often incomplete. Patients with atopic eczema often report improvement after sun exposure, and results from a series of studies suggest that ultraviolet B (UVB; wavelength 280-315 nm), ultraviolet A (UVA; 315-400 nm), and combined UVA-UVB are effective treatments.

Narrow-band ultraviolet B (UVB) is frequently used for psoriasis, and open studies suggest that this phototherapy might improve atopic eczema.

I have been told about the sun; we live in Tenerife and we have sun 365 days a year so that should not be an issue ;-) but this calima... really worries me much!

I suggest looking into the FOOD he is eating

Thanks for dropping by and caring for us

You should give him some menthol powder for itchiness! About those red blisters, you should go to a pediatrician or dermatologist.

Menthol dust never heard of that one before... Sure I will check it out! About the pediatrician... he is being several times and we have tried the creams-shower gels they recommend with just mild positive results... It is an early stage for us, we still have a lot to learn... -Thanks a million to share and care.

Getting a coffee and sitting down to read. Thanks a million for sharing and caring.

Ok last post I Promise =) here is another site it is again the search results to you son's problems. Tons of different information by Dr. Mercola. http://search.mercola.com/results.aspx?q=atopic%20dermatitis

last post!!!!?? no need. The oppossite! The whole idea is to learn and expose this problem to all!
Thanks a million to be there, to share and to care

I am actually looking at the list of food items that could be another cause.... so many, we eat a lot of this stuff (milk, sausages, fish,soya...) we have to reconsider a new family diet!

Sorry I just now saw this. I didn't want to bomb you with tons of stuff LOL.. Well hopefully you found something that you can try or suggest to your Doc. Sometimes you have to watch those Docs. because they are trained to think for big pharma's and not the person health. Meaning big bucks and kick backs come first because they want to push drugs for the drug makers.

AND EXACTLY HOW I FEEL.
Doctors use the term "atopic skin" as if everyone in the world suffers it: standard procedures apply...
NO NO NO, my son has suffered an attack from "something" and I wanna know what that "thing" is as to protect him the best way possible.
I don´t wanna be buying creams from pharmacy BECAUSE that is NOT necessary.

ONCE AGAIN, thanks a lot for being there, to share with us and most of all to care
