A fun video game to fight effectively Alzheimer's!
Yes, you read it right! A game specially designed to fight dementia !
Technology has provided us with opportunities that didn't even seem to exist a few years ago.
We have already seen projects such as the blockchain Golem, which lets you rent the performance of your IT equipment, or Gridcoin which makes it possible to participate in research projects by exploiting the potential of the blockchain.

In 2016, the telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom took a step in this direction and launched the Sea Hero Quest project, a game for smartphones, where you have to sail by boat on the sea ice in Antarctica.
The goal of this project is to anonymously retrieve users' browsing data and analyze it in order to "better understand how the men and women who play this game move around", according to David Reynolds, Scientific Director at Alzheimer Research UK.
Navigation in a three-dimensional space is the first ability to cope with the effects of Alzheimer's disease. It can remain undetectable for more than 10 years before a patient can be diagnosed with the first symptoms. The data collected will allow for better large-scale observation to draw conclusions.
For scientists studying the subject, 2 minutes of gameplay is equivalent to 5 hours of data. Since the release of this game, nearly 85 years of gaming time have been counted, or about 128 centuries of analysable data!

In addition, since August 29th, 2017, the game has been running on the virtual reality helmet Occulus Rift, which will further increase the quality of the data collected.
This time, it's the eye movements to locate oneself in space that will be studied, which will provide "15 times more data", according to Max Scott-Slade, a Glitchers game developer.
