Stephen Hawking, my little tribute
The past March 14th the great scientist and physicist Stephen Hawking left a huge void for us, for time reasons i couldn't make my little tribute but today is the day, here i go!
Hawking has been an icon of science, we all know who he is but, do we know what he has really done and what is the importance of his work? What legacy does he leave to humanity?
His legacy is basically a legacy in the field of theoretical physics, this is important to clarify because his theories are often taken as something already proven and this is not the case. It's an extremely deep legacy dedicated to studying gravity, taking this study to the limit, maybe that's why he was interested in such extreme topics in the field of physics as black holes or as the Big Bang and being able to check if the physics inherited from Albert Einstein broke or was still valid.
While he lived he had his relative recognition, probably didn't get more because his theories are very difficult to prove, for example, he made a very complex calculation in the 70s in which he deduced that black holes are not entirely black but emit a pinch of radiation, a tiny amount of particles that we can't see because of the enormous distance these black holes are. Although today it's not possible to verify their theories, scientists give truth to their calculations and have been used as a cornerstone in theories such as string theory or quantum gravity.
When you consider only Albert Einstein's theory of gravity the black hole is simply black and doesn't emit anything, that's all, but when we add to this theory that of Stephen Hawking (quantum field theory) you suddenly realize that hole is emitting things. This by itself may not have a huge relevance but it's marking us the way towards what is the holy grail of the theoretical physics of the 21st century, quantum gravity. This theory has been sought after for over 70 years and the great geniuses of physics have racked their brains without achieving anything notorious at all...for now.

Sí, se aferró a la vida todo el tiempo que pudo, seguro que en gran parte por su naturaleza científica, su gran afán por conocer y descubrir. Ahora sólo él sabrá si hay un dios o no, lastima que tengamos que morir para salir de dudas.
