The last cosmic event seen 36 years ago called "super blood blue moon" will be glimpsed on January 31 in the western part of North America, Asia, Middle East, Russia and Australia.

This event created a stir because it is a combination of three unusual space events, the extra large supermoon, the blue moon and the total lunar eclipse.

This is an astronomical trifekta. The blue moon points to the second full moon in a month. Usually the blue moon occurs every two years and eight months.

This full moon is also the third in a series of "supermoon" that occurs when the moon is in the closest position to Earth in its orbit.

This so-called point point makes the moon look 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter.

During an eclipse, the moon will slide into the shadows of the Earth, which slowly converts white light to orange or red.

The red light you see is the rays of the sun being reversed and reflected through Earth's atmosphere to continue into space until the moon.

In other words, these rays come from morning and afternoon sun rays that circle the world briefly.

The sun, moon and Earth equivalent will last for one hour and 16 minutes, which will be seen before dawn in all parts of the western United States and Canada.

Those in the Middle East, Asia, eastern Russia, Australia and New Zealand can see it at night, when the moon appears.

Unlike a solar eclipse, this lunar eclipse is free to the eyes of a human without using eye protection, according to AFP.
