Look upon this knife. Observe its shape. Take note of anything of interest then answer the following question;

Is the Edge of this Knife Flat?

I found this picture on Googles.

Let me describe what I see:(more Knife Nomenclature here)
The Edge is mostly straight, curving slightly upwards at the tip.
The Point is slightly conical.
The Spine is straight.
There is no bolster.
The Tang is completely contained within the handle.
There are no Rivets or Scales.
The Butt is cylindrical.

From my Point of View, the "Edge" is most definitely "Flat" giving some leniency for the slight curve at the tip. Overall the Edge is flat.

Now let's take a closer look at the edge using science and magic.

Now I can see that the Flat part of the Knife Edge is actually NOT Flat but cratered and randomly cerated.
I, from my normal Point of View, cannot see this close to the Edge and cannot readily identify the Knife Edge being everything but Flat.

This is the crux of my post.
My eyes have deceived me because I rightly, but unjustly, judged the Knife's Edge to be "Flat" without considering there could be other ways of looking at the Knife's edge.

Using science I availed myself of previous burden, knowing now that the "Flat-Edged" knife I see from my normal POV is actually not flat at all.

Let's extrapolate this into the Flat Earth Debate.

Just because the Sun looks so small does not mean it's 32 miles above us, it also doesn't mean it is millions of miles away either.

What determines its distance from Earth? Science!
Science isn't an on again off again relationship. Cherry picking data and associating the sugary-morsels with circumstantial and highly debatable "evidence" does not make a credible platform for scrutiny. Like I showed with the Knife Edge being flat from my normal pov, I can take a billion pictures showing this as being true, but, until I saw a scanning electron microscopic view of the Edge, my crudely constructed platform for the Knife Edge being Flat, relies completely upon the ignorance of those who subscribe to the same idea. Screaming the "Edge is Flat" into an echo chamber will ALWAYS return the same result.

Caveat: NASA is full of shit and it is only becoming more apparent how full and overflowing they are.

Do NOT trust the science produced from one source. The bedrock of Science is its repeatability. If NASA cannot be relied upon to produce data sets that are accurate for the situations we experience then we must take the data and define a new set of theories.

The Earth, from my normal pov, is flat sometimes and curvaceous others. Using science we have measured this roundish ball, not using satellites to "See" its curves, but using maths and quantifiable data to make this assessment. We made these assertions before we had satellites floating through near-space.

Is the Earth Flat? Does it matter?

In my opinion the Earth is as flat as the Knife's edge. It just depends on how closely we look at the details.
