understanding of aceh fishermen about the three seasons that occur at sea

The appearance of Pari fish is very moving for traditional fishermen "Pukat Darat" (Aceh Language) (seine shore - english). In this post I will explain how important the fishermen who catch the fish that only use the equipment gear is very simple, but can get maximum results. Sometimes these "Pukat Darat" fishermen, can enjoy the results of their work with the sea that has the potential of fish based on the weather season of fish in certain months. In Aceh the sea is divided into several seasons of transition. As:

  1. West season. That is, a season of weather changes or changes in wind direction from the west to the east, In this season generally the fishermen stop going to sea, the effects of this season's changes in the ocean waves akan very disturbing fishing activities.

  2. East season. That is, a season of weather change or changes in wind direction from east to west. This season is almost the same as my explanation on the number one, but there is a little difference in the eastern seasons between the time fishermen can activity whereas in the west season the fishermen in total must stop from the sea activities.

  3. Season "Peunudoh" (Aceh language). That is, a very normal season for sea activities and this season is very profitable for every fisherman, this season will happen after two seasons. That is, the west and east seasons as I have explained earlier.

Now we will explain a little about the effects of the occurrence of the first two and second season earlier. After the west season and the eastern seasons stop the water ecosystem will produce phitoplankton so naturally small fish will gather in phitoplankton setiap, from this condition will be the attraction of large fish to prey on small fish, this is what is called by the aceh people as the season peunudoh. That is the third season. this is called harvest season by the fishermen.

Now we go back to the initial discussion. That is about traditional fishing gear. Pukat Darat is a fishing gear drawn by fishermen from the beach or from the ground manually by hand, this fishing gear has been in use centuries ago, which was found by the Malay community in Aceh. In the past, the material used to make this fishing tool is a feather fiber that is taken from the palm tree, because the fiber can hold the fish in the cause of a series of fibers that are so tangled / twisted by means of knitting manually or traditionally by the fishermen who have the ability of knitting nets, The possibility of the Japanese to find the nets that are now, because the results of his research in Aceh by looking Pukat from the palm tree. Now the fishermen Pukat darat in Aceh, and now the tool is made of nets with various brands in the world.

The photo that I show below is a photo of the traditional fishermen during the activity on the beach...!

* first show a small stingray, Called (Kutuka) in aceh language, I photographed when fishermen throw it away.I do not understand why fishermen do not sell and do not need this stingray, but this fish is very delicious, in aceh generally do not eat stingrays are still small but like the big stingray, there is no explanation from the aceh fishermen about this small stingray why not in consumption.

* in the second photo showing the results that are being collected in the trawl by the fisherman, this photo I have posted some time ago.

* in the third picture shows the fishermen are lifting trawls to shore to complete the process of making the results.

* in the fourth photograph displays the fishermen circling the trawls after completing all the processes in the capture, this time in use to rest while waiting for his comrades to sell the catch to the market.

good story, may be useful for all aceh fishermen,

Good fish catching

Thanks you fery much for your comenting my frend

was the stingray dead?
There 's not much of them these days
if he threw it back cause it's alive then he's doing the right thing.
That small one could still have a chance to grow
Just because it is delicious doesn't mean we should indulge in eating it
we have to be aware whether a certain species is already an endangered one
and practice self control to let them thrive back so our last generation could still see and enjoy them
and perhaps in the end - taste them again

Small stingrays are still alive, and the species can last longer with the appeal of ordinary fish, but unfortunately the fishermen in our place often throw and ignore them. It must be maintained in its habitat, it is true that the fishermen here do not kill him but the fishermen are not concerned with the survival of the pari. Who should know that in our place stingrays are still very much a small stingray in our oceans. thank you sis already commented

I love science and good post my friend..
