in #science9 years ago (edited)

The second video in the pseudoscience series is up. Here we're dealing with the frequency and verifiability of claims, questions 2 and 3 from Sagan and Shermer's Baloney Detection Kit.

The purpose of this kit is to help people detect pseudoscience and deceptive intentions.

Quantum woowoo makes this mistake of just making up their own conclusions. But your 2. avoid binary thinking, yes, avoid it, but your explanation suggests it doesn't happen, at least to me. Dichotomies, dualities, do occur. Good video and info overall. Thanks for making.

Kris, thank you for the feedback! I hope we're on the same page here. yes, black and white exists, but the tendency (human) is mostly focus on those, thus, ignoring whatever else remains in between. what do you think?

Yeah I figured since you put avoid, but your video explanation was tending to emphasize how truth is not black or white... when it can be. It sends a certain message, despite the "avoid" in the text. Thanks.

This is a valuable series. Good work!

thank you!
