RE: Anti-Gravity Experiment Results

in #science7 years ago

Greetings, @clearshado and Ryan,

Thank you for publishing this outstanding experiment.

I vaguely recall hearing about Boyd Bushman in the past, but had never attempted to replicate his results. Your experiment and results may cause me to reconsider and try some tests on my own.

I can imagine several improvements to the experiment design.

  • Alternate positions of the balls... for example, it appears that from the viewpoint of the camera, the blue ball was always dropped on the right.
  • As was suggested by @fiveboringgames, an automated release mechanism is an essential
  • Increase the height of the drop to allow for greater accumulation of whatever effect may be in play
  • Use electronic timers for documentation and measurement in order to get some quantitative results. If this were done, you could also simply switch to a single drop, eliminating simultaneous drops altogether. One possible problem when dropping two simultaneously is the question of possible interaction between the magnets present in the two falling objects. With a single, measured drop, that variable is eliminated.

Thank you for an excellent post. Re-Steemed.
