5 Reasons You should Care about Cells!!!

in #science7 years ago (edited)

 1) Without Cells There Would Be No Cell Saga!!!

The cell saga was FIRE!!! Trunks came back from the future with the Z sword, Vegeta came out the hyperbolic time chamber in top shape, Goku was out with the heart virus, aw man...  And Cell!!! Cell was one of the best super villains ever. For a little bit it really didn't seem like the Z fighters would be able to beat him.  I remember coming home after school watching DBZ on Toonami calling my friend on the phone after each episode, then talking to him about the same episode everyday until the next episode came out.

Good Times!

 2) Without Cells You Couldn’t Make Gainz!!!

I don’t know what I would do with my life I could't make any gainz. Even though when, at my best as a lifter I focused more on strength, the hypertrophy of my muscles were pretty cool. There's a cool little feeling of accomplishment you get when you see your muscles growing because work that you've put in.

When we use we use the time under tension principal and command our muscles to grow,  we set off a series of events that cause the size of our muscle cells to increase.

Our skeletal muscles have the ability to repair itself fairly quickly after we break down and tear our muscle during a nice hard workout. Along with being able to repair the tissue, our bodies also have the ability to increase the size of our muscles to help them deal with heavier external loads, as long as certain nutritional requirements are met. (You'll want to be at a caloric surplus)

Apply some progressive overloading and you’ll be on your way to gainzville in no time.

 3) You’re Composed of About 40 TRILLION CELLS

Without cells there would be no you. And without you I wouldn't have anybody to upvote my post, or talk to about cells.
The fact that we're all a composition of cells seems like basic 5th grade knowledge, but if you take a second to think about it you can develop a new appreciation for what life is.

200 types of cells all with their own make up, functioning in the best way possible to keep us alive. It's actually kind of crazy.

I'm a firm believer in the idea that if you take care of your cells your cells will take care of you. And even though it's not necessary for most people to be cellular biologists, I think some basic knowledge of cells and how they work enables people to be better at taking care of themselves. From your muscles, to your brain, to your blood, to your bones, there really a lot that going that we depend on the work of our cells to do. The study of these processes have led to some pretty cool advancements.

 4) You’d Miss Out on Some Really Good Food!!!

Sweet Potato pie, bananas, buffalo wings, peanuts, ribs… Believe me I could go on.

But not only you, all of the best foods are here because of cells. The good clean foods. There's really no need to be eating cardboard and rubber sandwiches on a daily basis when there are so many better quality options available.

There nothing like sitting in front of a tv with a mango and a big knife and going to town. Probably one of the sweetest fruits I'm ever going to eat.

5) Why not!?!?

There's actually some pretty cool things that go on with our cells. If you take the stress of having to know certain things for a exam you might actually find some of those things quite interesting and amazing.

And I plan to be making a few post on cells so the more people I can convince that cells are something worth talking about over the next couple of weeks the better.
