Ive always though that if aliens were here they would likely not be using a spaceship for transportation. Much like how we can have an out of body experience they could possibly travel by these means. Transcending space and time in a non physical form.
I think they would be using a spaceship of sorts and would be manipulating the laws of reality through understanding the dimensions. To transcend space-time would bring one to the void in my opinion. Folding space-time would be manipulation, not transcending.
