The Space Elevator
In 1895, shortly after the completion of the Eiffelturm, the Russian physicist Konstantin Ziolkowski had the idea to build a tower connecting the earth with the sky, a so-called “the space elevator”.
This dream reappeared in 1991 with the advent of nanotechnology. The Japanese construction company Obayashi is planning to build an elevator up to the year 2050, which is 36,000 kilometers high. It consists of 96,000 kilometers of carbon nanotubes, will have a speed of 200 km/h and should take a maximum of 30 tourists per week to a height of 36,000 kilometers.
Some scientists are skeptical because carbon nanotubes can only be produced to a very limited extent and are therefore very expensive.

I would like to see the earth and land based things done first
But then again I guess people should start figuring what we can do on other planets while we still have this Earth base to work from
Wow :O
Very nice ~.~ thank you for sharing
