Stop complaining

Text: Numbers 11 (translation in current language)

¨ The Israelites always complained to God about the problems they had. When God heard his complaints, he became very angry and set a fire around the camp. People started shouting and asking Moses for help. Then Moses begged God for them, and the fire went out. That's why they called that place Taberá, which means "fire." They called it that way to remember that God had got angry there against them. "(Verses 1-3).

As we could read in the previous verses, presenting oneself with complaints before God, does not bring good consequences at all, therefore they are unpleasant for Him. For God had done many things for the people of Israel, He had shown signs, not what. helplessness at any time and instead of receiving at least one word of gratitude, received the opposite.

I think that all of us at some point in our life, have had a complaint attitude however minimal, sometimes God gives us things and we are not always satisfied, because we want our will to be always done and not God's.

The people of Israel were daily supported by the manna that fell from the sky every night, but since everything is not always rosy, there are never any shortcomings and ambitious people, as was the case of people from other towns who were with the Israelites , they were convinced that they could aspire to more, they came to think that they deserved more and sadly to long for past things, even though they were in bondage in Egypt (verses 4-9).

This situation is not alien to reality, there is no doubt that every day that passes is a blessing and that the things that happen to us is because God has loved him and will be something. Waking up every morning is already a great blessing, but it turns out that even though we have little or much to live, we say good morning to God with a complaint, which saddens his heart a lot. Do you really believe Jesus made that sacrifice on the cross, so that we always live in the desert? Obviously not and to complain what we do is to put a bump on that sacrifice.

Do not pay attention to the comments of the people next to us, many of them will always criticize or belittle what God gives you, advising you to demand more from Him, we have to be clear about something and that our father wants EVERYTHING BETTER for your children, but obviously that is happening little by little, it's a process, God has to deal with our life first and that complaining attitude only shows that we still have things to change in our hearts, and that we are not prepared to receive the great blessing we hope for.

The other thing that goes along with the complaint is the doubt, until Moses doubted at the moment that God told him that he was going to give them what they wanted so much, that was to eat meat. ¨ And Moses answered: My God, where are you going to take out? So much meat to feed them a whole month? There are about six hundred thousand men, not counting women. Even if we killed all the cows and sheep that we brought, or gave them all the fish from the sea, there would not be enough for everyone. But God said to Moses: Do you think I can not do it? Well now you will see if I comply or not with my word. (Verses 21-23).

What a great response God gives to Moses, after having opened the Red Sea in front of them and out of bondage, I doubt for a moment that God could feed them, sadly we are, we have seen the power of God acting, we know that He is the owner of everything that exists and yet we dare to doubt. When has God lied? He has never done it, even if he does not respond to your requests, it does not mean he will not do great things in your life, but he will do it his way.

Let it not happen to us like the Israelites who, because of their insatiable desires, did not take into account that their real need was to be in the presence of God. "People still did not eat quail when God got angry with them. He punished them so hard that many died. That is why they called that place Quibrot-hataava, a name that means "tombs of appetite", because there the people buried those who only thought of eating. (Verses 33-34)

God if he keeps his word, but in his time, do not force him to act as he does not want to.
