Braeburn’s 25 Day Trixie Challenge - Day 7- Wolves v Newcastle

After the thrills and spills of Saturday, yesterday’s Irish Placepot Challenge was very much a case of after the Lord Mayors show. The first of six selections failed to find the mark and as the day descended into a haze of alcohol, Thai food and bizzare BAFTA acceptance speeches (I’m looking at you Colman) I neglected to check any other results. Perhaps it was five places in a row but losing the first really does sap the fun out of a placepot.

The Queen’s House. London has called.

No racing in the UK today so I am back on the original trixie challenge bank for a couple of little bets on the Premier League game at Molineux between Wolves and Newcastle.

Wolves are, as anticipated by all, a top half Premier League side and I fully expect them to do one over Newcastle later tonight. It’s a game that the home side should win comfortably and it would be no surprise to see more than 2.5 goals. Were I a betting man (which I am) I’d have my money on a 3-1 here.

I will of course return my attention to horses where possible but I’ll be on the football if I have to.
