Long time ago,
There lived a woman whose name was olurombi, Olurombi was the most beautiful lady during her youth days in the whole village whereby people who are not rich enough do not have the boldness of asking her hand in marriage.
People have tried all their possible best to ask for her hand in marriage, but she keeps turning down their proposals. People became tired of asking her hand in marriage because they believe all they get is a “NO”.

After a long time of turning down proposals, Olurombi later accepted a proposal but as at that time age was not on her side anymore, but luckily for her she married a very caring and rich man and they lived happily.
Olurombi has gotten married for almost four years but she was unable to get pregnant that she couldn’t give birth to babies.
Years have past, time has passed, Olurombi has started loosing the patience, presence and care of her husband due to her bareness. Olurombi suddenly became an unhappy woman because she believe that she will loose everything in her life “her home” “her husband””her family” and “her rights”.
Olurombi tried so long to have a child of her own but all to no avail.

The villagers started gossiping about her whenever she passed their neighborhood. She felt very sad and became tensed, she could no longer take the embarrassment. So she decided to go to the extent of meeting a traditional herbalist to seek for solutions.
On getting to the herbalist shrine, she was directed to a spirit tree (god) called Iroko. Iroko has been a long standing tree in the village and it has been worship by the villagers even before Olurombi was born, also it a spirit tree that the villagers believe it give them goodness and children.
Iroko was a very powerful tree worshipped that whenever they need requested for anything they make vows with the tree promising to give something back in return to the tree.

Olurombi was very anxious as she ran to the tree for help. On getting there she pleaded with the tree to give hear a child and she already knows that she has to give something in return. So she make a vow to return the child back to the tree if her request was granted. (Running in her mind that she was just deceiving the tree that she will not return the child).
The tree was very pleased with her pledge because all other people that have been coming to make request had never make that kind of vow. The highest gift the tree has received were goat an sheep.

After some months has passed Olurombi became pregnant and she had a baby girl. She was so happy and she named the child “Aponbepore” meaning” the most beautiful and as red as Palmoil” because her child was also beautiful and fair just like herself

Years has passed, Aponbepore began to grow up, the more she grows up the more beautiful she becomes but the mother did not remember to fulfill the vow she made to Iroko.
Iroko was patient for a long time waiting for Olurombi to fulfill her promise but she failed. Then the spirit tree decided to visit Olurombi to remind her.
After some days, Olurombi did not fulfill her promise the Iroko decided to take her child Aponbepore and Olurombi became childless once again. She could not bear the loss and it affected Olurombi health. Later some days Olurombi passed on.

At the end she gained nothing but death
