The first video in the WUU2K documentary series is up on YouTube

in #running6 years ago

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been for the last few weeks, I can now start to reveal the project I’ve been working on. It’s not so much that it was a secret, but more that I didn’t have anything to show until today.

I’ve been out running the WUU2K course and filming it and talking about the trails as I run them. I did this to give other runners, who might be considering signing up for the race, something of a rough guide to the course so they know what to expect.

My hope is that by looking at the videos someone will have a good idea of what they are in for, and what they need to do to train for a good race.

I really enjoyed doing this and I hope people find it of some benefit.

Let me know what you think. If you were considering running this race, would you find this video helpful?

I sure as hell ain't going to run, or even walk it. The scenery is what attracts though.
Well done.

Thanks for that :-) It is a bit of a mission getting around the course. The last section is actually not as easy as I thought it would be. I think I'm going to need to train on that section a lot more.

At least the runners can now see what they are up to in your next race.

Yup ;-)

I might run the competiton again next week, once I get all the videos uploaded.

Count me in.

its a great idea...to have video/pictures/text on a run before hand is invaluable!

Thanks for that. Check out the rest of the videos as they go up. Maybe you'll be keen to sign up ;-)

point to be noted:Don't ask for votes

Wow! I have enjoyed the video. Nice trail and place.
The landscape is just amazing. Good work Trevor

Thanks. We're just getting started ;-) There are five more sections to go.

I love the simplicity and freedom of running. A pair of shoes and you are all set to explore new trails.

Very professionally done, congratulations! You've put a huge amount of work into it, haven't you? Fully upvoted and resteemed.

This event looks very tempting. I just might join it one day :) I would love to get to know the hills around Wellington first hand and feet.

If I may comment on one technical aspect. The difference of the sound volume between narrated parts and the background music is too big in some places. I know that is is hard to get a clear and powerful enough sound while walking outside and holding the selfie stick :)

Great work!!!

thanks for that. Yeah I had fun with the sound. I'm still learning how to do this stuff, and with all the different peices of music being different in terms of loudness, it got quite hard at times.

But I'll do better next time :-)
