Steemit Ultra Marathon – Game one – round two results
It's only round two and things are getting interesting already. Some of our runners are making bold moves and pushing hard, while others are taking a more conservative approach.

He peers at you through foggy glasses before carefully noting you number down. He's an Ulta spotter. |

8 | @runningdanw Bib: 7 | 18.64kms | Gels: 4 Health: Weird stuff happens on the trails Some spectators cheer you on, calling out your name and telling you you look awesome. It makes you feel good so you pick up the pace. |
@godofbit is pushing hard out in front heading around Zealandia. I'm sure he can hear the kakas laughing at him as he pounds his way up the hill.
@dlew has made some big gains this round to sit in second place. But at what cost? Will he have the stamina to carry on, or has he gone too hard too early? Only time will tell.
@skymaiden drops back to fourth place, and is also not looking too well at the moment.
@toofasteddie moves comfortably up to third pace and it looking good to challenge for the lead in the next round.
The rest of the pack are hard on their heels and it is still anyone's race. There is still the dreaded Tip Track to face on tired legs. And if that's not enough there are still more hills after that.
Runners
Well done so far. Everyone is making good use of their running. But remember what lies ahead. More than one runner has been broken on the next section of the course.
Keep an eye our for the post for the next round, which I'll put up this evening.
A small side note
It's amazing just how many spelling errors are still in my code, even after I checked it. More work to be done on it, me thinks.

The last few kilometers have been a little tough due to the lasso @len.george threw around me as I blazed past him.
Yeah, he'll do that to ya!
But given his dicky ticker, and dodgy knees, I'm sure you'll get past him. He does have a habit of catching up later in the race though, so you'll want to keep looking over your shoulder. ;-)
Stop giving my master plan away, sneak up when they aren't looking, then go like hell.
It worked well, it is better than slipstreaming and saves the old fella's legs as well.
Next time I’ll bring a stroller!
Remind me to tell you stories of drunken Kiwis [6 to 10 of us] peddling down the street at 4 am, turning corners on two wheels on a trishaw, with the owner curled up in the corner of the seat screaming for us to stop.
Totaly ruined my hearing ever since.

Whats my damage at in present? And if i walk lets say 1 hour how far does that take me? Thank you
on a scale of 1-5 your damage would be about 4. If you turn all red then it would be 5.
(the numbers are actually a bit more complex than that, but this will give you an idea)
If you walk for 1 hour you will travel 3kms and you damage would be cut to 2.

Ahh, the dust is settling down a bit now that the speedsters have raced ahead,
Woah! I've been caught napping!
But you can still catch up. It's a long race and anything can happen.
I need to keep telling myself "It's a marathon not a sprint" or I should propably be saying "it's an ultra not a 10k"!

We may train or peak for a certain race, but running is a lifetime sport.
