Sauna Run + Cool Bath (#runforsteem Post)

in running •  last year

30 degrees at noon in Barcelona today!

The summer arrived showing its power...and I couldn't go for running the last three days...

But, I felt frankly well...

Today, I went for running with my running partner, Alex, who is finally back in Barcelona after a long stay abroad, due to work...

He is my running partner since years ago and I really missed him during this season...

He is, in part, one of the reasons why I didn't have the expected continuity in training... We used to run together, specially on those days of Long run, while preparing marathon...

We did run together our last marathon, and we finished exactly at the same time... let's say our bodies and minds were really working in synchronicity.

Good memories, indeed! I am happy he is back.

So, today we did an easy and short run, mainly aerobical, at least in its first half since we were talking about many aspects of the life...

The second half has been faster, but much more faster...

We did play a little like "dog and cat", interchanging the positions among us, speed playing... so, we run below 4'/km the last 3 km...

Enjoy and sweating like pigs!!!

We decided to have a cool-bath straight into the see, just after finishing the 7th Km...

Running in loneliness or in group?

Despite people believe running is an individualist sport I don't really think so...I think is important to have running fellows with whom to train, speak, share experiences and races...

Even the most experimented runners can suffer apathy to the running routine, so, being part of a running "gang" helps a lot in order to overcome those moments.

Also, in order to improve as a runner, it is very important the opinion of your coach and colleagues... You would improve further if you would take note of advices and opinion from them...

if you are training always in the loneliness, of course you will improve, but not as you would do if you train with more people...

Keep on Running!

Thanks mate!
Steem on!

Woohoo!! Summer has really arrived for you ;-)

It's good that your running buddy has returned. I know it is important for most people to have someone to run with, even if it is a dog.

I think I'd like to get a tortoise as a running partner, so I can keep up with him ;-)

Oh, and I can see below here that the Running Project is quoting me. How cool is that? :-)

... except it is attributed to @trevor.jones instead of @trevor.george ;-)

Keep an eye out for my Virtual Ultra game. It's coming back soon ;-)

Nice - I am happy for you that your running partner is back! I also like to run in a company... and there are pluses and minuses of running in a company and running alone. Depends on a day, your personality and how well you match with those with whom you run and so on... But I do love company on the races... there company really helps!
