BLUENOSE MARATHON HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA
This will be the 4th time I have had the pure joy of running the Blue Nose Marathon in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A very hilly run in a very beautiful city. However this year will be a very very special year as I will be joined by my grandson @eddiebowes. Sadly I have not been able to train with him as I have spent so much time in Ontario working on my mother's house.
I am convinced that it will be such a great day anyways. Just the excitement of being there each year is for me such an honor. To join in with someone else is icing on the cake. Eddie is a super fast runner and I know that he is stoked. Even if he has to stand in the start line with his Oma, I just know he will admit.. that this is just so much fun. We will make sure his proud Opa will take as many pictures as he can.
Watching this video keeps me so humble as I see all people. People with heart in all shapes and sizes and abilities. It is not about winning, but rather about the human spirit. It's about faith and perseverance. About not quitting when the cards are stacked against you. About going after what you want, whatever that may be. I hope that Eddie enjoys the day, that he seizes the moment and that he is inspired. That he has fun. That he appreciates this opportunity and all opportunities awaiting him. Such a strong and smart boy with so much potential. That he understands the power of the human spirit and to go full tilt for what you want in this world. I am so thrilled and blessed to be joining him in this most wonderful opportunity. I say Go Team Bowes, we rock.

Eddie has been counting down the months since Christmas, and now the days, he's so stoked, what a great idea getting him involved in this.
I'm glad you've found such a supportive and vibrant community here in NS, the runners sure seem like an awesome bunch.
They sure are an awesome bunch, they come in all shapes and sizes and it is such a nice community of folks that all know each other from one end of the province to another. The Blue Nose is Big with lots of hoopla and excitment but you see everything , just like the video shows. There is something to be learned here from this marathon and not just about your time. I hope he keeps going and keeps seeing what I see and what I have learned from running. If he wants to hang out with us we will be going to more runs. This one is the princess.
Going to be making such great childhood memories...I'm sure he would run anytime with you!
