Longest Run This Year [Fifty runs till May #9]
I've had an open windows of one hour and a half this afternoon and managed to squeeze a quality run into it. Very satisfied.
I started the run in setting sun and finished it deep in the dark. Most of the time I managed to run by the river Kamniška Bistrica without the head lamp turned on. It was a carefully paced run with lots of feeling involved.
It is amazing how you feel the path in front of you when you run in the dark. When your eyes are not the major input then your other senses take over and make wonders.
I did turn on the lamp for the last three kilometers. Partly because i was crossing some muddy industrial backyard while searching for a path back towards river. I also stepped up the pace and wanted the run to finish smoothly.
That id did.

No major climbs.
Last four kilometers were the fastest which is always a good sign. It really felt good. It was an achievement. My longest run so far this year. It was also the fastest steady tempo run.
Now, all I have to do is run three times this distance and the marathon run is done :)

You are well on your way to being able to complete the marathon! That is quite an impressive pace especially for that distance!!! A little over a 9 minute mile if my math is correct!

Considering the circumstances - dark and gravel - I am very satisfied. I have to do more of these steady tempo longish runs.

The gravel is always a tough surface to run on! What is your next goal from a distance perspective?

Short longterm goal is a sub 4 hours marathons on April 8th. Already picked one, entered and paid the fee.
Next goal is a around 50k trail run on May 5th. Preferably Austria or Italy.
Then lots of running during the summer.
Then 75k run Celje - Logarska here in Slovenia on September 1st.
Then picking up distance so I will be able to run 100+ k runs easily next year.
