RE: Pausing the App and Recording My Total Run/Walk Time (#runforsteem post)

That's pretty cool that you're able to get to and from work without a vehicle. I guess that's one advantage to living in the city huh?

When I do speed intervals I can't decide whether to stop the app during the rest / slower running period or just let the watch keep running. It definitely makes it hard to analyze my performance for each interval but I usually do a quarter mile between each longer interval so I need the watch running to tell me when I've hit my alloted rest distance (I consider a long speed interval being a mile or more).

I wish I could run to work on some days but I live about a marathon distance away from my work place and the fastest route requires driving on a 14 mile stretch of interstate highway (no pedestrians allowed). Not that I could run a marathon distance right now. Maybe 20 miles at most. I'd be quite a sight if I did manage to run to work one day.

Sort:

I live near a high speed train line, so I usually take the train part way. If I take it to the end, it’s 1.1 miles the rest of the way to work. If I go just over the bridge into the city it’s more like 2. If I stay in Jersey and run over the bridge it’s 3. Door to door is 8.5, but I only do that now and then when I’m close to a 10-miler I do every spring. If you have any kind of public transportation option you might be able to be creative.
