Running a mile under 6 minutes (My Journey in dropping 1 full minute) Intro

I'm doing this challenge to whip myself into shape quick. I've lost motivation lately, and sometimes life can get you down for various reasons. We all need to find the inspiration to motivate ourselves. I believe humans are capable of amazing things and many times we're lead to think that we can't do things. I want to disprove that for as many people as I can. I'm a vegetarian and have been since I was 4 years old. Growing up, I was told that I could be a much better swimmer if i would only eat meat. I said no, and kept doing my thing. I went on to be ranked 11th in the nation at one point for the 100 butterfly at 12 years old. I broke many records both local and regional.

A few years back I had another cousin of mine tell me I was not able to run a mile under 6 minutes in 1 month. He even bet me $100 that I couldn't do it. My time around then was roughly 6:50. On the very last day of the month, I ran 5:53.

Humans are capable of doing many great things, it's our minds that hold us back from doing them. Don't let anyone convince you that you CAN'T do something.

I'm a little older than from the last time I ran a sub 6 minute mile (i'm 30 now). But if a old guy like me can drop a full minute in the mile in a short amount of time, so can you!
