10K training run W5D3 (fiftyrunstillmay 3/50 & Run For Steem)
Again, I'm writing about my run one day later but I have 2 reasons for that. First, I have a lot of work. Second, I tried to do my stretching in the evening and not just after my run like I'm used to do it after reading the post of @life2dot0. So I wanted to wait to see if I'm in pain or not :p
My last run of the 5th week of my 10K training was a long fartlek. Here is the session: 35' at my endurance pace (4'49"/km), then 4x3' at 3'54"/km pace with 2' rest and finally 15' of cool down.
The first thing I can tell is that it was not easy. Probably also because I did 3 sessions in 5 days which is not usual for me. Second, for the first 3x3' I had the wind in the face. The third one was really painful but then, strangely, the last one was ok.
Nevertheless, I felt really great after my session and I had the impression to still have a lot of energy!
Like I said in the beginning I listen to the advice of @life2dot0 and I didn't do my stretching right after my session. I did it around 10pm (approximately 6 hours after the end of my run). When I do it right after my run, I never feel any pain the next day so I wanted to see if it's the same if I do it few hours later.
And my conclusion is no, I don't feel the same. I don't really feel pain but I'm a little more tense and I can feel that I ran the day before which usually never happens.
So maybe it's just because I'm not used to it and I'll try a few times more to see if there is a change.
Last thing before the details of my run: my ankle in hurting me when I walk since yesterday evening. I hope it will disappear but I have the impression that it's not looking good ...
My Strava session:
I hope to be able to run tomorrow if my ankle doesn't hurt anymore! If not, I'll probably do a post to announce it.
