you could say it's somewhat of a nasty tradition here, like slavery used to be back when zaire was congo under leopold , but you don't see much of it if you just stick to the centre of brussels it all is very very nice and shoppey heh

the fact that the rate of firearm related deaths equals that of the land of the cosa nostra and camorra among others, putting it on par with the most organized crime in europe actually never makes it to the six o clock news. It's absolutely no police state here, there's no censorship at all. Nothing to worry about, everything fine, everyone a stem career now and then

if you read TFA it shows right there how the five governments over 11.000.000 people have trouble legislating one another and crossing boundaries because of legalistic bs , safe to say the wallon govt will not give up its cash cow ofcourse, and the federal government which somewhat acts like (i have no clue what it acts like) something above the other four (no idea why they have that other than to allow 20% more tax-free paid officials) which is the biggest problem of the country and costs the most, compared that crime , unemployment and the usual beating sticks of the police state dwindle in cost.
I think they own the all-american winchester too (but im not 100%sure), im sure your average patriot would LOVE that heh and i'm also fairly sure despite the heavy campaigning in public on the over ten years old war in Syria that a lot of the toys used there by any party involved, either to shoot syrians, or to shoot islamic state or to shoot americans or russians

actually it comes down to the belgian government being the biggest arms dealer in Europe but despite that for some reason we dont see any of the money here, so i wonder where all that goes
