Random Adventure Hook Contest #1
These are known as Rory's Story Cubes and they can sometimes spark your imagination. I have seen people do poetry contests similar to what I am doing. On caveat, this is not the normal set, which gets used too often, in my opinion.
Create an RPG Adventure Hook using the pictures of the cubes. The best idea will get 20SBD next Monday (July 10th), so you have a whole week to come up with one. It can be any genre, fantasy, sci-fi, modern, horror, post apocalyptic, it does not matter. What does matter is that you use each picture at least once. It does not have to be a literal interpretation, if you can explain it, go for it. (i.e. the light bulb could mean idea)

- You don't have to be a gaming geek to participate, just come up with a compelling idea for an adventure.
Prize
The winner will be given 20 SBD. If this is successful then I will run more of them and include prizes for the runner up etc.

The wasteland sizzled with rolling Lightning bolts that seemed to strike with more concentrated ferocity as the group approached the floating Skyscraper. The front entrance of which had a massive diamond Lock on it that could not be picked. Upon inspection even the groups Magnifying glass failed to find a flaw with it. Suddenly there was a break in the storm, and a Rainbow appeared with a Cloud at the end closest to the group. Underneath which was a giant mutated Bee. The Bee spoke with a thunderous roar. "You seek the last of the Flower children do you not"? The group was speechless. The Bee continued "then you must answer my Question"! "Where does the Lightning go when the Bulb is shattered"?

The bees have been dying out for a while, with the pollination of flowers becomeing dangerously low, a new idea was needed. In high-security tower, the worlds foremost expert on bee behavior was on the edge of a breakthrough, when he was struck by lightning as he contemplated the implication of his latest tests. The characters are his fellow researches. As the rainbow appears in the sky at the end of the storm, they have many questions to answer. Should the call the police? Try to search the area for the old doctor's notes? And was it really an accidental strike?
Can you explain the two cubes that aren't exactly easy to understand? One is about 12 o'clock (kind of looks like a top hat with squiggly lines) and the other is about 6 o'clock (rainbow with a head?). Thanks, looking forward to participating.
The top one is a skyscraper, i think, the other is a rainbow with a cloud.

No one really knows this because it's never happened but when a person is struck by lightening while standing at the end of a rainbow a strange chemical reaction occurs in which you shrink (magnifying glass) to the size of an ant! This is exactly what happened to Professor Smalls who was having a bit of bad luck while out in the field (like, literally out in a field)...ironically, because everyone knows finding the end of a rainbow = a big pot of leprechaun gold. BUT NOT THIS DAY. Anyways. The professor is actually a genius as well as an adventurer (like Indiana Jones) and he knows a way to reverse his problem but he needs to get to his office downtown (building). How is he going to do this without help? On a climb up to the top of a flower he has an encounter with a bumble bee. In a strange turn of events he's able to communicate with the bee and any other insect or animal. Must be a side effect from being shrunk. Rainbow magic and all. This bee's like the comic relief sidekick in a movie. He's an outcast in his hive and he's trying to prove himself as anything but a bumbling idiot (haha! get it?!....) Okay SO. The professor has one of his genius ideas (lightbulb!) and asks the bee for help getting to his office downtown in return for helping the bee (let's call him Spike) become an upstanding member of his bumble society. They embark on an epic suburb to downtown journey where they have to defeat enemies and unlock (padlock) side quests and gain weapons, etc. through puzzles (question mark).
....I'd play it.
Have you ever dared to seek adventure? Have you ever embraced the unknown? Do you conquer fear with the thirst for knowledge? Do you relish a challenge?
Then we seek your assistance, and humbly request that you join our team of explorers!
At this very minute, as we release this bulletin, we are mired in a quest to gain access to an item in the Sightseers tower. This tower is a Skyscraper of immense proportions and levels. That no outsider has gained access to in over a hundred years. There is but one entrance that has but one adamantium Lock placed upon it. No one goes in nor out of this entrance except the courier who holds the only key.
This information in and of itself would create many a Question. Yet there is much we have not covered.
Every floor of the tower has its own defense, many have yet to be reported on, and those reports we have are quite old. Can we still assume that there is an army of deadly Lightning bolts guarding what we covet? Or that there is a level inhabited by poisonous flora that can cause death in minutes, unless you find the gilded Flower?
Succeed past all this and then we are faced with a riddle that if answered correctly gains us access to our treasure, a piece of glass, a bulb that harnesses the power of light, a Lightbulb. Harnessing it's secrets will lead us into a new age! You will be a noble part of history!
Daunting as this quest is it is not impossible! In fact we have learned that at the end of the Clouded Rainbow lives a creature that can assist us. This creature contains both the riddle and its answer upon its feet. We will no doubt have to subtly imbibe this creature with drink, so that we may investigate his feet with a Magnifying Glass. One wrong mis-step and a swarm of his Bee allies can finish us off with their deadly stingers.
Make no mistake there will be trials and tribulations, perhaps even losses, but to those who survive and succeed there will be riches beyond telling.

Thanks for posting more than one entry. This was hard to choose and they were all fantastic, I think next time I'll have a prize for second and third as well.
What won it for me was the last line of @mcdevlin182 's first entry, "Where does the lightning go when the bulb shatters?"
