Whoa! The light just went on! We just went through an attack on a settlement and NONE of the settlement workers (other than the ones we are allowed to bring to quests) were involved in fighting to protect the settlement. That would mean that we don't really need to outfit our workers with armor and weapons, because they just keep working as usual while we do all the fighting! In that case, I don't really need to supply all my workers with gear, do I?

So how would that work with the soldier class once we build a barracks? Can we still only take ONE extra person on quests with us? Do we build a barracks to make just one soldier?

yes this is correct. but its a good plan to make two good sets whit armor and wepons, make you more flexible to do quests solo etc. the barracks is "upgrading the worker" still one. you can bring whit you on a quest to have a base 5 to hit not the 3 he has now. and unlocking more military possibilities like battering ram etc.

the link is allways under the region on the colonye post am uppdating the post when new buldings etc are added. like enjar was sying. a like it when you need to find out how its working. and when you are researching something you always get the info the next week.

The link does not show any prices for the items listed. Nor HOW one can make their own (Resources req'd.)
I guess we need to do a lot of research first and then decide which route to take. I have been flipping back and forth over what I'm going to build next.

no the prices are hided before you get the bulding. all items can be produced whit the Basic resources. its only hide and wheat the are colonye specialty. where its produced resources are in brackets in the under Basic resources etc . so if you dont have hunter you need to trade. to get hide. etc.

my ide is your colony dont now how to make a sword the do understad iron is inporten and hide is to. but whitout and actual Blacksmith the have no ide how much it take to make a sword. but the also understand by making and Blacksmith the can make the sword a feel ist more interesting like this.

AHA!! OK, I now understand your thinking in the design of the game. It actually makes sense. In real life, we need research and experience to fully appreciate things we don't understand yet.
