It was a month since fall had started and the village was starting to look lively again after weeks of silence and worry. It had not been long since the people of Kunst had resisted a strong raiding party and suffered many losses to the hands of the attackers. The memories were fresh and the pain weighed heavily on their souls.

Tutorial: Pay attention to the mood of the characters. A very low mood can have an impact of up to -3 to all rolls, while a good mood can mean up to +3 to all rolls.

Despite the low spirits, the elder council had seen fit for the village to hold a celebration, for the danger seemed to have ceased and the people desperately needed something to cheer them up. The hunt had been generous and the harvests of autumn crops were decent considering that attention had been constantly placed on defending against raids.

Anku and Lianna had been tasked with the gathering of wood for the fire. Brother and sister, they were distant in age by a year. Though still to young to be considered adults, they already were very instructed in the ways of the woods, skilled with the bow and knowledgeable about plants, mushrooms and trees.

Tutorial: There will be a character sheet for each character but it will not be public. The way you get to know about the skills is by paying close attention to the story.

Lianna was an energetic girl, always jumping around, talking to everyone and partaking in as much of the village’s activities as possible. Anku was a silent, coontemplative and perceptive boy. He had a hard time fitting in with the other villagers, specially the hunters who expected a rowdy and “manly” behavior from him.

Tutorial: When making decisions in the comments you must take into consideration the personality of the characters. If you don’t, the comment will not be able to drive the story.

Soon, Anku would have to go through the manhood ritual which meant he would have to actually hunt and kill his first prey. This was a very troubling event for him due to his respect for animals. When younger, he had met face to face with a young deer and they had stared at each other for a long time, entering a sort of telepathic communication. Later, after telling others of his experience, he was made fun of, leading him into an introspective and quiet personality. He had held a better understanding with that deer than with any human ever.

Lianna admired her brother profoundly and was the only one who made an effort to understand. Her brother had protected and stood up for her, and she was certain of his deep spiritual connection with the natural world. Despite this, she always found new troubles for both of them as her sense of being cared for made her quite reckless.

Anku stopped picking branches from the ground and came to a halt.

"I can’t do it. What right have I to take another creature’s life"? - he thought out loud.

"Then don’t do it. Their not going to hang you if you don’t" - answered Lianna cheerfully.

"I don’t want to disappoint our parents. I don’t want to disappoint the elders. I want to serve our village" - said Anku with a sigh.

"I don’t want to disappoint, I don’t want to disappoint" - mocked Lianna with a childish voice. - "You know, if you go through life trying to please everyone you’re going to disappoint yourself, and that is REAL bad" -.

Lianna might of been reckless and loud mouthed, but she always had the secret wisdom Anku needed when he got overburdened with his excessively responsible ways.

An overwhelming silence suddenly took over the woods. A gust of wind made the leaves crack for a second and then the silence came back. Out of the corner of his eye, Anku saw a figure move in the distance. He whispered “Lianna”...

🤔 at this point I'm guessing whether it was something friendly or otherwise, so Lianna and Anku will arm themselves and take a defensive stance. 🙂

Agree to this. I think it is too early for a hostile creature to appear right now :)
