Ron Paul Liberty Report: Why So Many Big Businesses Love Government Regulations

in #ronpaul7 years ago (edited)

So-called “government regulations” are not what most people think that they are. They don’t curb “greedy corporations,” but entrench them. They don’t harm “rapacious companies” but strengthen them. They don’t “protect” consumers, but hobble them. Government should only be there to prosecute against fraud or aggression. Once government starts “regulating,” the worst of the worst rise to the top of both government and big business.

So true. Companies like Walmart, Comcast, ATT, Verizon, even smaller large chains like Costco and Kroger, Best Buy they simply love it. They can eat the cost.....Raise prices a little bit and get away with it because those smaller companies, mom and pop places, smaller utility type companies and others too will have to raise their prices more. Those 2 percent price raises over the 5, 6, 7 percent raises, even if the difference is that little, would add up over time. 3 price increase go from 6 percent raise up to a 15 to 20 percent rise in those smaller companies. They go under and the big chains get even MORE business.
