Robot News: This Robot Can Tow 9,000 Pounds!

in #robot6 years ago

The world of robotic RC vehicles is a world full of possibility. The fact is that there are amazing breakthroughs happening everyday. Here's another one! It turns out that Trailer Valet has made a new robot that can tow up to 9,000 pounds behind it. Yes people, the Trailer Valet’s RVR can get that done for you!

The RVR, which recently started shipping, is a surprisingly compact remote-control vehicle that can attach to a trailer so that you can move, turn, and park it without hooking it up to a truck or something comparable in size. The RVR moves using a pair of treads, and Trailer Valet says it’s capable of moving over dirt and grass as well as paved roads.

It looks like a little tank and packs a real punch based on the research I've done. It is also amazing to me how small this little robotic vehicle is as well. I am thoroughly impressed with this new valet!

Take a look at this thing in action!

Now is this the most amazing robot I've ever seen? Probably not. But for $2,100 you have a chance to buy what amounts to a miniature tank minus the firepower that can pull things around for you!

Well, the numbers don't exactly add up in terms of getting what was promised above for $2,100. Actually for the base price, you get an RVR capable that can only tow 3,500 pounds. But lets be honest, that is still pretty darn good!

For $3,400, you get a model that can handle 5,500 pounds. And for $4,100, you get an RVR capable of moving 9,000 pounds. They each have an estimated 30 minutes of battery life.

Clearly there are big things happening in the world of robotics and this new robot proves my point!

What do you guys think of Trailer Valet’s RVR? Could you see buying one of these for yourself or a family member? What other uses could you think of for this type of robot?

This seems to be a really nice robot.

This is one hell of a robot

9000 pounds is alot

What a crazy robot! I like it that it's affordable...

That makes me want to haul stuff now. Not to move stuff, but I would be able to treat hauling like playing Mario. Who would turned that down?
