Two Rivers
Heart cannot overflow
with two opposing springs.
A spirit cannot hold
great joy and bitter feelings.
As one spring overflows,
the other is made weak:
Either an Eden grows,
or bitter robs the sweet.
As one spirit wakens,
another spirit sleeps:
In slumber of our dragons,
rises a voice of peace.
Heart can't rise to heaven,
filled with heavy feelings:
None could soar in freedom,
bearing rage of beasts.
How can joy be full
when heart carries rage?
No spirit overflows
when anger fills this place.
Heart must forsake one river
to taste another deep:
Let go of waters bitter
to feel and know the sweet.
