This One is for Marty...
The wild eyed kid you see pictured was Marty Ramsey. The photo is dated 2008, around the time him and I went to the same high school. While we weren't super close growing up or going to school together I learned this morning that he's the guy our local newspapers had been talking about.. I'd read that someone was killed after unknowingly driving their snowmobile off a good 20 meter (~65 feet) river bank at high speed.. Only to hear from a chick I used to bang back in the day that I ran into while trekking about town earlier that it was a guy we had gone to high school with. Fuck.. :/ What a way to go...

This guy was a class act, quick thinker, athlete, troll and asshat at times but he had a good heart. He'd started a family, grown up and ultimately became a Canadian that most in these parts would agree was good people. The news of his death shocked me a bit and was yet another reminder that our lives are so incredibly fragile, with tomorrow not promised.
The part that saddens me the most is that he leaves behind his family. I believe he'd settled down and had a couple kids with his sweetheart, one of his kids is no older than 2 months old or so.. Just sort of sucks knowing that he had his shit together and was building a good life for himself and family only to have it cut short by something that could have likely been avoided.
You're immortalized on our blockchain now and forever.
Its always rough contemplating death and its impact. For him, the hardest part is over, but we are all in the same boat. Are we the rock that hits the water, or are we the ripples that reach the shore? Nobody wants to die doing what they love, but atleast he didn't die doing what he hated. Once you look behind the veil, there's no looking back.
Well said man..!
that is sad for his family
Hey sweetheart! So sorry to hear this, death does remind us of how temporary this existence is.
Aside from this sadness, how have you been?
Hey. Yeah.. So far 2018 has been death.
Myself am doing alright I guess. Slowly getting back to me again it seems.
How you been?
Glad to hear you're getting back to you. But yeah, so far death is about right. I lost my dad a couple months ago and my brother and I have been helping mom find her way, they were together since she was eighteen so fifty years. And while he had multiple health problems, she's healthier then women twenty years younger so she's still got a lot of living left.
On a happier note, I finally got my brother to join, his awesome self and music is now on steemit :)
Wow, life can be so short. I can't imagine leaving behind a family like that. Hopefully some people will read this and take your message to heart @klye.
Got a bit emotional when writing this and having it actually sink in..
This dude basically had it all, wife, kids, house, the whole 10 yards..
Then BAM, a bit of excessive speed on a ski-doo on unfamiliar terrain and it's over for him. :/
anyone no one knows about when he will die and others, death only god knows.
may he be calm in nature there, and the family that was left steadfast faced it.
True words here man. It's not him who has to suffer through the loss.
Sad news @klye, here's hoping he's gone on to better places!
Sucks man, I wish I could say this was the first of guys I went to school with dying on motorized machines due to excessive speed, sadly it's not.. Seems to be a theme around the parts I grew up. :/
Marty is gone way too soon - I feel really sad for his family, only God knows why. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
That's the part that chokes me up the most, it's not just some crazy bachelor guy dying here.. Dude had a life made for him and the family. That's the heavy part on my mind. :/
He was very beautiful. It's very sad story
So sad, this is will like a moment of confusion for the wife. May he rest in peace
What a sad way to go, but then what can we say.
Rest in peace brother, and may your family find the strength to bear this loss. While we all learn from this post and take the message to heart even as we avoid accidents that are avoidable.
