The only intelligent reason to say this is to deceive Biden supporters.
Seems weirdly cocky. I don’t think we even know if Trump or Biden will be on the ballot, or if RFK, Jr. will be on the ballot. How do you take votes from someone who isn’t on the ballot or take them if you’re not on the ballot?
I also think that there are plenty of people who could go for Trump or for RFK (because they hate Biden) who, upon seeing this statement make up their minds not to help Biden, and never again consider voting for RFK.
The only way saying this makes sense, with any game-theory savvy, is if RFK sees he clearly takes more from Biden (by far) than Trump because, by saying this, he makes it even more likely that Biden supporters will support RFK.
