Why do we need to click a button to redeem our rewards?
I have seen few minutes ago a post made by @alexbeyman, asking why do we have to redeem our rewards manually.
I just realized this is a very good question. I really can't understand why it is like that and definitely this question came after some errors while we are getting trying to reedem our rewards.
I don't understand why we are not getting automatic the rewards and I am sure this has nothing to do with hackers or other stuff relating with security.
If you have any idea and an answer do not hesitate to comment below.(I know it's hard.)

Because it gets some people addicted to this site like crack cocaine. Imagine you would only have to click a button to receive your complete salary. Or everyday 1/30 of it... For some people that would be very annoying, but not for everyone.
Yes...you might be right
I'm not sure the intent was ever public, but a good theory I heard at the time - it took an active user to actually put the rewards in your wallet. This accomplished two things, it stopped the growth of inactive accounts that we signed up for voting bots such as steemvoter. In addition, it helped to make fewer transactions on the blockchain. If you take all of your funds once or twice a day, that makes less transactions then if it deposits every tiny bit.
So there you have it... A theory.
thanks, that make sense!
I think this has been done to keep track of the active accounts and remove the inactive ones.
I don't think inactive accounts are removed
Not exactly removed but they can be tracked with it.
I started to use the @minnowbooster site, redeem every 10 mins automatically.
check the thread: https://steemit.com/minnowbooster/@minnowbooster/minnowbooster-new-feature-auto-claim-rewards
thanks man!
other option is join the shadowbot community;
http://shadowbot.us/shadowbot/faq.php
it gives you some upvotes and also automatically drops your pending awards in your wallet.
A great question, and I have your answer... It's so that Noobs like me feel a sense of achievement when accumulating rewards. Psychologically it's a motivator to continue ones contributions to Steemit. The notification is also green which we have come to associate with 'go' or 'move forward' or 'yes' . From the perspective of someone on say reputation of 25 or 30 this Is exciting to see and gives a sense of validation thus far :)
It wasn't like this before HF19...
I agree should be automatic
me too...
It's probably to keep dead accounts from amassing SP which would be a problem for the economy of the site.
But if an account is dead what should it receive...I guess on the next 7 days then...nothing
Good objection, I am only guessing. For example when you delegate Steem Power, you get regular payments. I have some 100SP delegated which bring in about 0.05 Steem. Imagine someone with 100000 SP delegated dies.
And a question: What happens with the $$ from an upvote for an article older than 7 days? Where does that go to?
dissapear :p
It's your digital acknowledgement that you received the funds.
Nice writings
