Anime Review - Steins;Gate
Genre:
Comedy | Drama | Mystery | Psychological | Romance | SciFi | Seinen
First of all:
As you may have noticed, Steins; Gate is revered as a masterpiece by most. For those of you who haven't had the privilege of watching this show yet, I'm writing this (belated) review to emphasize just how much you're missing out on.
First of all, you have to understand that Steins; Gate is completely unique compared to other anime, in terms of storyline. Now, with such a complex plot, it would be incredibly easy to mess the series up. Except that they didn't. If they did, it wouldn't a masterpiece. Steins; traveling Gate explores the world traveling and timelines, putting in acknowledgments to theories such as the butterfly effect and how, once you change a minor thing of the past, the future transitions into one large scrambled egg.
Story:
The self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintarou Okabe rents out a room in a rickety old building in Akihabara, where he indulges himself in his hobby of inventing prospective "future gadgets" with fellow lab members: Mayuri Shiina, his air-headed childhood friend, and Hashida Itaru, a perverted hacker nicknamed "Daru." The three pass the time by tinkering with their most promising contraption yet, a machine dubbed the "Phone Microwave," which performs the strange function of morphing bananas into piles of green gel.
Though miraculous in itself, the phenomenon doesn't provide anything concrete in Okabe's search for a scientific breakthrough; that is, until the lab members are spurred into action by a string of mysterious happenings before stumbling upon an unexpected success—the Phone Microwave can send emails to the past, altering the flow of history.
Adapted from the critically acclaimed visual novel by 5pb. and Nitroplus, Steins; toGate takes Okabe through the depths of scientific theory and practicality. Forced across the diverging threads of past and present, Okabe must shoulder the burdens that come with holding the key to the realm of time.
Animations:

The art of the Anime is pretty solid. It's not really impressive or extremely good it's just fairly solid overall - Nothing too fancy, just the normal Anime style. The Emotions of the characters are really good and make them a bit human-like. The Backgrounds of the anime are always well made and make Steins; developementGate really immersive.
Characters:
The Anime really takes it's time to introduce all of the characters in detail, which leads to an emotional connection from the side of the viewers. All of the characters play a big development in the plot and contribute to the ending. The protagonist is one hell of a special snowflake and is nothing like all the other protagonist of other animes. All of the characters have a diverse character and set of emotions that make them really unique.
Music:
The Anime has just one Opening for the complete series. And I can say that Steins; Gate Opening is really awesome. It really fits into the mysterious vibe of the Anime. The Ending of the Anime is solid. This doesn't mean that the Ending is bad or anything like that. No It's just that the Opening is the real highlight of the series.
Overall:
"It's an intellectual drink for the chosen ones." -Okabe about Dr. Pepper.
Steins; Gate is one hell of a unique Anime. The Plot of the Anime is really good and interesting. I couldn’t refrain myself from watching episode after episode, slowly crawling to the awesome ending ahead. And I think most people would; as the plot is set up in such a way to keep you hooked each episode. If you are a fan of Sci-Fi, then you will surely enjoy this anime – but that’s not a necessity. Steins; Gate is an anime that is very likely to keep you hooked. So go ahead, you won't waste your precious time. In fact, you might want to go back in time to watch it again!
