Anime Review - Parasyte the maxim(Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu)

in #review7 years ago

Story:

All of a sudden, they arrived: parasitic aliens that descended upon Earth and quickly infiltrated humanity by burrowing into the brains of vulnerable targets. These insatiable beings acquire full control of their host and are able to morph into a variety of forms in order to feed on unsuspecting prey.

Sixteen-year-old high school student Shinichi Izumi falls victim to one of these parasites, but it fails to take over his brain, ending up in his right hand instead. Unable to relocate, the parasite, now named Migi, has no choice but to rely on Shinichi in order to stay alive. Thus, the pair is forced into an uneasy coexistence and must defend themselves from hostile parasites that hope to eradicate this new threat to their species.

In the story section, Kiseijuu has some notable succession. A bizarre yet successful setting brings Kiseijuu a glimpse of uniqueness to its story. The story actually not so complex, the concept is understandable and easy to remember. The individual elements of the story run pretty well too, it was thrilling and so exciting. The anime have a fairly balanced pacing while throwing some excitement & surprises at the same time. Kiseijuu added many other genres and mixed up into one big unity. One of them is romance, There are some scenes that included romance Although sometimes the romance felt awkward because of the lack of process.

Characters:

Both of our main MC's Shinchi and Migi grow a lot in the duration of the series. We can clearly see a bond being created between them like a father and child. Migi has a special curiosity which leads him to let's say "research" the human sexuality which makes for some of the most amazing moments in the Anime. The show takes its turns with each episode to present thrillers scenarios and events that connect with the characters.
There are different kinds of villains with different kinds of motivations behind their actions and the side characters are really well made as well. It is really good indeed. The Character development is really the thing that makes the Anime really unique and especially with this kind of cast.

Animation and Art:

As for the Art and Animation, I would say that it's quite decent, to be honest. It's neither really good nor really bad. The Art of the Anime really lies in the Animation of the facial expression of the Characters, that is where the Anime really shines. The Scenery and Background are most often really well done. So let's get to the good part to the Fighting scenes. The Fighting Scenes are well made I would say it's nothing that will throw you off your chair but it's good enough that it will keep you hooked. I don't want to sound pessimistic or anything like that I like the Animation of the Anime - It's just not what the Anime really is about. It's much rather about the story behind it and the character development.

Overall:

Parasyte is really worth watching if you are into psychological shows. The Anime is really a great one to watch and will leave you with a lot of questions about our own existence and our current way if living. I will assure you will be hooked after one episode and you will binge watch the whole show in a matter of hours. Kiseijuu is a wonder that is sometimes fun, sometimes horrific, sometimes mysterious but always entertaining.

For the people that made it this far: Thank you for reading my review. I generally try to keep these ones short so ask me any kind of question you have related to anime in the comments. You can discuss all sorts of stuff with me and have a nice day.
