LOST EMBER - Game Review

A touching story about a timeless subject. Together with the wolf, which seems to be the reincarnation of a deceased person, we try to recreate his memories and understand why she became a wolf after death, instead of reaching the gates of paradise. The faith in which the wolf grew up assumed the existence of a city of light to which every good person goes after death. Souls who "don't set an example" are like the heat of extinguishing and unable to reach the city of light, they wander lost in the world.

However, the wolf is a wolf, not a wandering soul, what's more, he has the extraordinary ability to transfer his soul to other creatures. Thanks to this, we can explore the world under water as a fish, dig underground with a earthworm, fly over trees, or trample them with an elephant. This element of the game is very satisfying. It provides interesting experiences and draws attention to different perspectives on the world.

In addition, the wolf is not alone. He meets another stray soul and they both set out on a journey to regain their memories and find the entrance to the city of light.

I was relieved to find that memories are not full of metaphors, they can create a story that is still being played back in our world, they have quite a lot of references to it, but they are clear. You don't have to wonder what the author meant.

Our memories are scattered around the places where we once lived. So we have to repeat our entire journey in life to reach the moment of our death. Our task is to find key places for our memory, find hidden objects using our unique ability to move to other animals and come to the truth. The world we run around is wonderful, though a bit underdeveloped. Many elements look beautiful up close, but if something is a bit further away, or if the developers have not figured out that the player can get to some place, we can come across rectangular, ripped, smooth textures, without any details. For the same reason, there are more dangerous bugs. You can get stuck by the wrong animal in an unusual place. The soundtrack also sometimes gets looped in a very annoying way, although we will only notice this if we continue to hang around the area after the activities, instead of moving forward.

In my opinion, the game gamepley and graphically wasted some of its potential. You can see budget gaps, and you can also see the huge potential of the wolf's skill, which could basically be used to solve complex logic puzzles, but the game is too linear for that.

Despite this, the plot is crushing and I could not break away from the middle. In turn, the two final chapters definitely cause increased eye sweating and will remain in my memory for a long time, almost like the end of the first The Walking Dead. Could there be a better recommendation?
