Review of the TV series "Lexx" (1997 – 2002)
Greetings, dear readers!
The world premiere of the series "Lexx", created by a joint production of filmmakers from Canada, Germany, great Britain and the United States in the genre of science fiction, fantasy, Comedy and adventure took place on April 18, 1997. This series did not appear in the Russian box office, but it can be found on the Internet on sites that provide services for viewing movies online.
I watched it a year ago. I do not remember the reason why I postponed writing a review, but the other day, while sorting through the archive folders on my computer's hard drive, I found notes I had made on the plot of this rather unusual series, and decided to fill in this gap.
The series is really unusual both in its plot and in its setting, shooting techniques, performing various tricks and special effects.
Basically, the story takes place on a live spaceship "Lexx" in the form of a large dragonfly that can tear apart any planet in any of the two Universes. Inside the ship a rather motley group had gathered:
Commander Stanley Tweedle (Brian Downey) - a former class 4 security guard, coward and traitor, who only sometimes, in moments of global danger, shows high feelings and selflessness. The rest of the time - this is a insignificant, worthless little man with a lot of bad habits and inclinations.
And, as if to test his its durability, the second member of the crew was the priestess of love Zev (Ksenia siberg), in which an interstellar lizard sometimes wakes up, and then-beware of all who will be next to her.
Against the background of this "hot sexual" couple, the warrior of the once powerful but now extinct Brunnen-JI race, the dead and inexorable killer Kai (Michael McManus), stands out with his cold calmness.
The most unusual member of this crew is the head of the robot 790... - very smart and overly affectionate.
Traveling from planet to planet, our heroes constantly got into all sorts of alterations, from which they sometimes had difficulty getting out. They found a lot of adventures on their own head, it was interesting to watch how they overcame the obstacles that arose on their way.
Well, what can I say about this series? To my surprise, it turned out to be quite fascinating despite the fact that it leaves the impression of a kind of farce, fun and reckless. My first impulse was to stop watching the show, but at that time there was nothing else, and I continued to watch "Lexx", and soon I could not refuse to watch it.
And it's not even that the show is clearly for entertainment purposes and is designed for relaxation. It also contains a lot of rather caustic satire concerning many aspects of political and public life. Perhaps this is what most draws attention to it.
Well, you can not ignore the magnificent special effects, technological innovations, landscapes, music, presented in the series.
In the main roles, in addition to Brian Downey, Michael McManus and Xenia Seeberg, Eva Habermann, Jeffrey Hirschfield and other actors starred, who perfectly coped with the task set for them.
The series will appeal to fans of science fiction, adventure, and humor.
Pleasant to you of viewing!
Thank you for your attention, see you soon!
With respect to you, @mrfantastis.
