Tick's Tales is a point-and-click adventure game.

This post is part of my "First Impression" series:

I'm playing & posting about the games from my backlog. Here I write about them and think whether I'd try finishing them or not. Though many of them are from Indiegala.

Earthtongue

Control the Ecosystem

Earthtongue is a simulation game that lets you control a whole world and its inhabitants which are divided into bugs and fungus. You have to manage the eco system and try to prevent your creatures from extinction.

It took me a while to understand the game even though it has simple mechanics.

In Earthtongue the years go by quickly, and you can only intervent after a number of years each time. By intervention you can add a new bug and/or plant. Some creatures need to live on other plants/bugs and might go extinct otherwise.

More Possibilites

The game offers a huge possiblites on how your world can grow. At the start of a new game you can choose one of the worlds to observe and grow, and there's the steam workshop levels that you can download and play if you're playing the Steam version of the game.

There's also the Research Guide: a tiny dairy that gives you additional info about the plants and bugs you cared for. Each research guide page is filled after maintaining it's situation for some amount of time.

Final Thoughts

The game does its job as a simulation game where you control a whole world perfectly. I liked the pixel art and the research guide is fun to read (even though I only managed to get few entries.) The workshop levels add more possiblites to this game.

My first impression is that: it's a good game overall.

Will I try to complete this game?

No, I think I played enough of Earthtongue
and I'm not into simulation games that much.
